Clarke Energy named preferred bidder for Lake Kivu power projects in Rwanda (Oil Review Africa - Friday, 31 August 2018) -- The UK-based Clarke Energy has announced to provide approximately 25 of GE’s Jenbacher gas engines for Symbion Power’s Kivu 56 and KP1 Power Plants in Rwanda. Two power projects at Lake Kivu are set to increase capacity by 81MW and significantly reduce the current cost of generation in Rwanda. Read More

Rwanda to be net carbon emitter in 2030 - Report (Rwanda Inspirer - Wednesday, 29 August 2018) -- Third national communication report on Climate Change indicates that if nothing change, Rwanda will remain net carbon sink until 2030 where Rwanda will start to be net carbon emitter. “Inclusive Cities Talk” launched in Kigali (GGGI - Friday, 31 August 2018) -- August 23, 2018, Kigali, Rwanda – A series of “Inclusive Cities Talk” meetings were launched by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).
